This Christmas looks to be one filled with gadgets and gizmos galore! Gone are the days when Santa’s little helpers were busy making toy trains and dolls. Those presents have been replaced by iPods, Nintendos, and home entertainment systems.

It should come as no surprise that the most coveted gifts this year all come with extension chords and power switches. So just what are some of the most in demand items for this Christmas?

For almost any age, there is the latest in mobile phone technology. New phones with added features and the latest internet functions are rolling onto shelves from virtually every marketer. A big draw comes from Apple, with it’s unique touch screen ability.

Wii FitGamers are always looking for the latest from manufacturers, and now the Nintendo Wii is hoping to cater to a wider market. With games such as Wii Fit, Wii Sports, and Wii Play, the gaming giant attempts to reach out to a broader fan base. Boasting that you can find custom workouts, build your own characters, and sync your games with friends, they hope to take video gaming to the next level.

Finally, even the tots and children are being wooed by new technology and interactive toys. There is the Robot Dog, which is perfect for parents who want to give their kids all the fun of a real pet without the potty training and shedding.

A whole line of educational toys are out from a company called Lamaze Toys, which promises to help your child boost their brain development, and even go so far as to state they can improve your baby’s chances of getting higher grades come school time.

Yes, Christmas is a magical time of year, and it is almost certain that you will also need to be stocking up on batteries, chargers, and extension chords for all those wonderful gifts under the tree!
